Because of a kit colour clash, Alport Ladies donned their away kit, sponsored by leading regional estate agents Halls’ Whitchurch office, for Sunday’s important tie which was watch by a crowd of more than 160.
Halls have agreed to sponsor Whitchurch Alport Ladies, who have been promoted to the Staffordshire Girls and Ladies League this season, for the next three years and also have advertising signs at the stadium.
“We are delighted that Whitchurch Alport Women wore their away kit, which Halls sponsor, for their fantastic victory in the Women’s FA Cup tie and hope it continues to bring them luck at Solihull in the next round,” said Simon Dodds, Halls’ Whitchurch office manager. “Congratulations to the team and club.
“With the England Lionesses winning the Women’s European Cup and being Women’s World Cup finalists, I know how popular the sport is and Halls wanted to support women’s football at a grassroots level.”
Whitchurch Alport Women first team manager Daniel Booth said: “With an attendance of more than 160 for our debut in the Women's FA Cup, and to be able to continue our journey in the competition against a side with a lot of experience at a higher level, is a fantastic achievement by the team.
"We are incredibly proud to be able to showcase the support that has been shown by Halls with our brand new away kit. We can't wait to continue to represent Halls across Shropshire and Staffordshire throughout the season as we look to generate more moments like Sunday."
Halls also supports Whitchurch Rugby Club with ground sponsorship. Simon says the company is keen to put something back into the community by supporting grass roots sports and, at the same time, further raise its profile in the region.
