Two experts from a London auction house hope to discover valuable paintings and jewellery when they visit South Shropshire later tomorrow (Thursday) to hold a free valuation event.
James Forster and Raphaelle Godfrey, from Chiswick Auctions, will be available at Ludlow Scout Headquarters in Station Drive to value paintings and jewellery respectively from 11am to 2pm.
Home visits can be arranged on request to view collections or valuable individual items if owners are unable to attend the event. Contact James on Tel: 07887597302 or email: [email protected] .
Should owners wish to sell their paintings and jewellery, Chiswick Auctions offers a route to London’s international market, which consistently achieves the highest prices. The company is currently consigning fine art and jewellery for forthcoming auctions.
James, who has lived in South Shropshire for six years, joined Chiswick Auctions earlier this year to provide professional valuations and a route to sale for paintings and works of art from all eras and mediums.
He has a detailed and broad knowledge of the fine art market, especially modern British paintings, including Welsh 20th century works, as well as many established artists from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Raphaelle has more than 15 years’ international experience in the art and jewellery markets spanning Paris, Hong Kong and London.
A qualified auctioneer and certified gemologist, she also has experience of the wholesale and bespoke retail jewellery industries.
“We are both looking forward to meeting people in Ludlow and valuing their quality paintings and jewellery,” said James. “It would be great to discover some hidden treasures during the event, which is the first in a series that I shall be organising for Chiswick Auctions in the coming months.
“Being based in London, the company has access to the international market with a large database of buyers and collectors, which is very beneficial when it comes to achieving the best possible price for consigned items.”
